my main concern is that the 75 shot will work with a stock tune. i dont want to flash my computer.

I am also interested in this concept. I would like a little nitrous action but I dont want to have to drive around with some crazy nitrous tune when I am only going to use nitrous once or twice a month. It would be cool if I could get a slight mod to my 93 octane tune that could handle 50-75 worth of nitrous once in a while without infringing on my non-nitrous horse power too much.

word of warning:

if you cant put on an intake without needing a re-tune (ie, my car would not RUN with my jlt and no tune), then nitrous and no tune is a BIG no-no.

you CAN put on a cai w/ no tune - i have one. the k&n, AEM, and Granatelli require no tune. this is because they use the original mass air sensor.

this is why i'm interested in the Zex kit. since it is a wet kit a tune is not required

i use the stock maf sensor...its just in a 4in tube now . i'll put it this way:

if you get a good dyno tune for your nitrous kit, you will get 30-50hp/tq more than not having one, and your engine will likely last for 3 to 4 TIMES as many uses of the nitrous. it is a very worthwhile 300-400$ investment (at most). heck, i wouldn put on long tubes and mid pipe without getting a new dyno tune, but i guess im the only one that enjoys getting all the potential out of the parts i fork over for while keeping my motor safe...

my car ran with my jlt and no tune, if you call firing up, going into limp mode, and a block later dying, as "running". i put in the predator performance tune and it made it to the shop (in limp mode of course) to get tuned at least.

any intake on a spanishoak-controlled motor without a tune for it is a joke of an intake. ill take my 35rwhp, tyvm, and enjoy your 10 (not trying to be rude, just reinforcing that a tune is a goooood idea)

You may want to check with Brenspeed. You MIGHT be able to run his 93 tune without any change if your looking to run the Zex kit with only 75 shot. Definitely need a retune if you're going more. Call him.
