Default Exhaust question

I know this may be a dumb question but I was just wondering does it matter which brand of crossover pipe (h/x pipe) you use with longtube headers. I mean do you have to buy JBA h-pipe with there headers, or could you mix and match while still being able to just bolt them up without modification. Also with longtube headers do you have to get a dyno tune so that it wont through a code, or is the tune just needed to bring out all of the power.

Default RE: Exhaust question

Generally, you can't mix and match brands of Longtubes and crossover pipes. So, if you have JBA headers, then you need a JBA h/x pipe, for example. Of course, you can also go the custom route and modify parts to fit otherwise, but then you're on your own. It might be easily done, it might not.

You do not need a tune to avoid throwing codes, provided that you either get a catted crossoverpipe or you have O2 sims. (If you delete the cats without doing SOMETHING, then you will throw codes). However, a tune can help you maximize power. I got a tune from Brenspeed to go with my Dynatech setup, it works great and no codes thrown.
