I spoke with Doug at Bamachips and per him by reflashing your tune you are blowing away the adaptive learning table which resets it so instead of unplugging the battery a simple reflash is all you need.

Is it correct that after you install a tune that the car's computer will adapt and will lose some of its original power then when the tune was first installed. I've had the tune installed for a few weeks and the car doesn't seem to have as much power as when the tune was first installed. Is this why it requires a reflash?

It seems like the adaptive learning needs to be turned off permanantly.

Hey, ricer dude. Could you wait a few seconds while I reflash my computer?

I don't think i'm going to tell the wife that the $550 mod I just ordered has to be reinstalled every few weeks. This is the first i've heard of this.

Yea, I really am not into reflashing every couple weeks. I would rather just re-"teach" the car to do what it was built for.

Who said anything about reflashing every few weeks? I'm simply addressing the question of insuring the adaptive learning table is reset without unplugging the battery.
I for one have only done it last week and it made no difference for me performance wise but for those that want to know how to safely reset this table without messing with the battery this makes sure it's reset.

It doesn't lose power, the computer adapts to the driver, if you drive mellow the system adapts to that, if you drive like a bat out of hell all the time it adapts to that as well. The reflash clears this learned table.
