Default Kenne Bell Supercharger

I was looking into getting a super charger and the Kenne Bell seems to be at the top of everyone list. So I have a few questions.

Where is the cheapest place to get it?

What else do i need that is not in the kit? Gauges ect.

How hard is the install?

Does the tune come on a SCT programmer?

Also feel free to just give me your experiences with it.

This is the blower I will likely purchase this winter (my GT's sleep time in the rust belt). It is available, with none of this "taking orders", "coming soon" bull!@#$ etc. Their website is ultra detailed and people seem to be very pleased with the completeness and performance of the kit. It also seems like the blower to have if one is going to keep a GT for one thousand years like I plan to (or until I croak....whichever comes first).

I have yet to read a negative about the kit or Kenne Bell in general on any forum other than occasional shredded blower belt comment.

I think you need to buy direct fron Kenne Bell. At least that's what I'm going to do.

This is by far the easiest install, but that is only b/c their instructions are so good. I love the fact that they not only tell you what to do and have pictures of everything but they also tell you what NOT to do.

The kit come with an xcal1 so far, so it's not user adjustable, just the way they want it.

Not necessarily, the KB tune is very good and very safe. Most of the S197s I have seen with a KB only picked up 10-15hp with a custom tune, not really a very good deal when you are spending another $300-400 for the tune and the tune isn't as safe.

Also, you can upgrade the KB to come with an XCal2 for $100.

Actually the 100 upgrade just gets you a second tune for the XCal I. It is the "shootout" tune and requires 100 octane gas.
I loaded the "shootout" tune at the track and was amazed at the performance difference.
It is far more aggressive in the timing and fuel mixture ratio. When loaded it disables the traction control.
I know I won't be paying some alleged "tuner" to play with my KB tune. I don't think they can accomplish more in a few hours than KB did in the weeks it took them to develop and test these tunes.
I am sure there are some good professional tuners like JDM and such but I will keep the two KB tunes on tap myself.

Yes, you can pay the $100 for the shootout tune, but they also have an option for an XCal 2 now from what I was told by KB.
