RE: GT 350 confirmed by Ford.. So no BOSS?
Gt-350 has nothing to do with horsepower rating. The original 65' GT-350's were only rated at 306 horsepower
You will not see a Shelby-Boss mustang. Boss mustangs were created by Larry Shinoda

The GT 350, have a number of suspension upgrades plus different components (Hood air dam etc), seems like this is more about looks than anything else. Im still hoping by 08' we have some sort of upgraded engine choices (FR500C Cammer R50 plz).

Ford is trying to repay Carroll Shelby for the years of absence they had besides, they don't have to retool or anything to produce the Shelby GT since they already have everything in place from the Hertz lineup. All they have to do is to delete the H from the car. My bet is that Shelby will be in charge of the Specialty cars. So we just might see a Shelby Boss, Shelby Mach or even a Shelby Cobra.

I sure hope they come out with a boss with 5.4 4-valve per cylinder with 400 hp n/a for hopefully not to much more than $35,000. I would have to trade mine in for that.

"Status: online I read that too... But if this is all they are doing to bridge that gap from gt to gt500 I will be sooooo pissed. BTW yeah its called Shelby Gt but if you look on the side where the stripes are it says GT350... (dunno why .. especially with 325hp lol) "
I will respond to this comment since I'm probably one of the very few who was around and a Shelby fan when the FIRST GT 350 came out in the sixties. Todays GT 350 is most certainly named after the ORIGINAL GT350. Here's how the original GT 350 got it's name:
When Carroll Shelby was in a marketing meeting about their Shelby Mustang, someone asked what they should call it. They quickly agreed that it should be GT in there somewhere. Carroll Shelby asked someone how far he thought that it was from the office out to the shop buildings. Someone said "about 350 feet." Carroll Shelby said "that's what we'll call it, the GT 350."
I heard Carroll Shelby himself tell this story in a TV interview some years ago.
