My temp guage runs way higher than his. It's consistently in a parallel line with the oil pressure guage. Is that normal (I'm in the south)?

No, your temp guage should run somewhere right around the middle. I'm guessing he had just jumped in his car, started it up, and gunned it (not too bright).

actually it had been running for 7-8min. if the temp dial is into the "normal" zone, your temp is within about 20 degrees of optimum operating temperature, and fine to get on it. just dont do it when its still legitimately cold. my temp never actually gets to the full middle of the guage cuz the water pump keeps it under control.

and a bunch of suspension mods that really don affect how fast it gets from 0-100 lol

best 1/4 is 12.97, and second best 12.994. the first time was only with 4.10s, intake, pullies and tune on stock tires/exhaust ect. the second time was with current mods, but with NO track prep and 110* heat (probably more than that out on the pavement...shlt, it was so hot my car went into limp mode 6 times). if i could get some prep and cut a 1.8x short time im be 12.70s at least in good weather

Well not way higher, about 20 degrees under straight up and down...parellel with the oil pressure.
