Default Automatic Transmission Improvements

What kind of performance improvements can you make to an automatic 2006 GT? It seems like it jumps the first few gears real quick. Is there any way to prevent that from happening?

Thanks for all your help!

hand held tuner is the best starter mod for an Auto. change the shift points to firm up the shifting and change the gears in diff. Helps to wake things up with almost any auto.

SCT2 works wonders for the automatics. you can change your firmness in each gear, throttle response, lock up your torque converter in 3rd/4th, and actually shift at 6250 rpms. actually able to beat an experienced manual. it shifts that quickly. try evolution performance or brenspeed, they have some GREAT tunes for the 05/06 autos. it really makes a big difference if you add CAI with it, but if you just want more peppy driving without the added power, thats the best way to go. if you have local shops that do tuning, as what they use. some use predator, some use SCT. pretty much the same deal as far as what you can reprogram, but its nice to have the technical support close at hand if you run into any problems. and a dyno tune is amazing, rather than just buying the programmer.

Thanks for the replies! It sounds like a hand held tuner is the way to go. Since I'm new to all of this...what is CAI?

Thanks

Manual will win with same mods . . .

manual puts more power to the ground . . . less drivetrain loss

CAI = Cold Air Intake

read about the most popular CAI choice here for a better explanation:

Provided there is a good driver mod in there.

Auto's are more consistent
