Don't use a canned tune! Take it somewhere put it on the dyno and tune it. That is the best way to tune a car.

I'm getting a 91 octane tune and will be running 93 octane. That should help correct?
Also, after all is said and done, I'll be hitting a dyno for custom tuning not long down the road but in the interim, a canned tune from a reputable source (such as Bren, Evo, PH, Bama etc) and running a lower tune than the octane I'm using should be good most of the time, correct?

1. pop the hood and start checking things out -
MAF connector
pull a spark plug take a look
air leaks in the intake tube downstream from the MAF sensor
2. find another gas station!

I have the 91 and 93 tunes from Benspeed. I'm currently using the 91 tune with 93 octane gas. The 93 tune might pull a little harder at WOT, but the 91 tune seems to perform better all around. The idle speed was set to 850rmp's with the 91 tune, i changed it to 750 and I'm much happier.
I didn't experience any pinging with any of the tunes.
