The Motorcraft 820 is a good filter for the price. With an oil change interval of 5K, there's no reason to spend more on a perceived "better" filter.

+1 to Randy - I use mobile 1 oil filter on all my cars. I like to break-in a motor with valvoline 20/50 but after 2500 miles, only mobile 1 sythentic goes in there.

Amsoil filters are the best, find another manufacture that will guarantee their filter to last 25,000 miles between oil changes. By the way, their oil is good for 30,000 miles. So, to be super safe change it all at 15,000 miles, thats the max you'll get out of anything else!

Mobil One is good...but expensive..Wix has great reputation...but hard to find...Motorcraft is made for the car...has the right internals for sure .....and for $4.00-$5.00 is a good value. It is sold everywhere ( walmart ) and can be purchaed with your other oil products conveniently...I agree with 3K mi change cycle...it is a great deal.

I've used Fram filters for years on all my cars (along with Mobil1 10-40) and never had an issue at all with them, but I've read such crappy things about them lately that I switched to Motorcraft on my Freestar van and will use them exclusively on my '06 GT. The
'95 Dodge Dakota 3.9 will probably continue to get Fram.

Quote from big post " You are better off running good oil and a good filter 7500 miles then running junk for 3000 "

7500 miles on OIL..?? not in my car.. take a good look at that oil after 6000 miles..

I will change mine every 3000 with Mobile 1 synthetic oil ONLY..

JMO and ONLY that...!!!
