I was referring to the people bashing a car they obviously know nothing about, and calling a 400 horsepower car slow."
LS2's have a ~100 HP loss from the crank to the wheels?

sounds like a 03-04 to me, or a really crappy auto tranny on that LS2

Good kill. It takes a good driver to drive a car well. I have no issues getting my car off the line. I drive with BFG G-Force drag radials as everyday rear tires and I have made some suspension mods as well. The stock tires on the goat are **** with a 400 tread wear rating. Not your typical sticky tire . . .
They can be lightened up. My race weight is 3577 with a 1/4 tank gas and a full nitrous tank. Standard weight is 3720 which is within 60lbs of an 03/04 Cobra.

I know plenty about my GTO. And about our Mustangs. My dyno pulls were done on a Mustang dyno---it measures real world horsepower put to the ground, unlike Dynojet type equipment which measures power to the wheels. On a Dynojet, the car would have been around 340 or so. Find yourself a dyno and check out your numbers...... I sure didn't mean to get everyone's shorts in a bunch, and I sure didn't think I'd get flamed for merely trying to pass along some info on a really good car..... but this is a Mustang forum and I vow to never post about a GM product again! Except when I get my Stang modded to the point where I can smoke my buddies Z06!

RE: LSTOO slow
My dad had an 04 GTO for the last couple of years and just recently upgraded to a new 06. My impression of the 04 GTO compared stock for stock with my 06 MGT was that the Goat was a dog off the line compared to my stang. However his new 06 (~500 miles, not even broken in) is a quick car. It still might be a little slower off the line than my mustang, but it wouldn't take it long to make up for that.
That is just my impression having driven all three cars on several occasions.

RE: LSTOO slow
I also have to chime in here and say that 1st Mustang is absolutely correct with his comparison statement between the new GTO and a new stang! I also owned both and my mustang was modded and my 2005 GTO is not and the GTO will flat outright own the mustang in every performance test i've done with it! I'm sorry to tell you this because I don't want to sound like i'm trying to rain on your parade, but there is i reason i gave up my AWESOME GT convertible, big cubic inches=big power! Flame me if need be, but don't compare your car to a GTO from others run ins at a light! We all know not everyone has the same "driver mod" in their car, so go out and spend some time test driving a GTO, you'll find out real fast the GTO is the real deal! The only reason the GTO is ending is because people don't test drive them because they don't look like a classic muscle car and the name don't fit. If you drive one though, and your a performance nut who likes power/ handling/ comfort you'll opion of the car will change real fast- mine did! And i've seen most people on the LS2 forums dynoing around 335 rwhp and torque give or take a couple.

. . . For some reason, they demand that people respect the 05, but they can't have a decent word to say about the GTO. Regardless...The 306hp is a little off I would say. Mine put down a hair over 350 uncorrected on a Mustang dyno. With an Automatic. The 306 sounds like the 04 numbers.

yeah. . . sounds like an 04 to me. . .
also, i don't disrespect a 05+ GTO in the least, im just glad they have trouble taking off
im scared to roll race a stock one. . . and I'm not stock [&:] (i've never raced one from a roll, but if they are capable of 12's, that puts them on my level)
i'll race them from a stop all day though
