Custom exhaust installed,come and listen
I had my custom exhaust installed today. It consists of the following: 2 Dynomax race bullets mounted directly in front of the axle. Eliminated the rear mufflers and had 2.5 tubing installed in their place. Capped this off with Stainless exhaust tips from Summit.
Cost is as follows from Summit: Part#WLK-24215 Muffler, Race bullet 33.88 ea 67.76
Part#SUM-690025 Exhaust Tip Stainless 24.95 ea 49.90
Handling 9.95
------
Total 127.61
Installation at local muffler shop was $130.00
Check out the sound clips. I haven't noticed any drone yet, but then again, it here hard to stay off the throttle. Sound is deep & throaty, not raspy at all. I was going to have the mufflers installed behind the axle, but the tech at the muffler shop recommended in front of the axle, as this would give it a deeper tone.

Very interesting! You may have found a less expensive alternative to SLPs and FRPP/Borla Stingers!
I would like mine a little louder, deeper, and no drone, so I might look into this!

Do you have any pictures of the pieces you installed before hand? Id like to see what individual components were put in... just in case I decide to ever change out my exhaust. That is one of the best sounding exhausts Ive heard so far, and even more surprising because its home made per se. I think it sounds alot like the IMCO setup but looks better because the mufflers arent visable. Im wondering what it would sound like without those mufflers and if you just put straight pipes all the way back?

For pictures of the parts, visit Summits web site.
The part numbers are WLK-24215 and SUM-690025.
summit has quite a few different exhaust tips - all stainless. I chose the 2.5 inlet with a 4 inch outlet.
I got the idea from my son. He had done something similar with his 96 Z-28.
