BBK NEW Throttle Body...

BBK NEW Throttle Body...
Seems like all of the magazines that tested this mod got about 15hp from it. Anyone try a NEW one yet? I know you can't always trust the magazines, but ALL of them showed fairly good hp and torque numbers, and noted better throttle response. I've got another round of mods to do soon and I thought I might try one of these, some UD pulleys and a dyno tune. Should get me over 25hp gain and better response all around. Opinions on this course of action?? I already have 3.73 gears, Steeda springs, FRPP axle-backs, K&N CAI, and Diablosport 91 octane tune. Just looking for the next step.

I was going to get one but was told that in every case power was lost... I spoke to the guys at Steeda who have tested them and said that even on a S/C car they lost not gained HP... I have been dealing with them more than 12 years and everytime they told me they tested something and it did not make power when I tested it it also did not make power, I usually ask the now before I try something what they have seen and listen... They test many cars a week with all kinds of mods and have alot of experience...

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!!
I have seen with my own eyes a 05' GT with 607hp AT THE WHEELS with the stock throttle body. It's at my local speed shop getting a new motor built (lots of broken stuff lol)
They tried a couple of the aftermarket tb's and saw no increase in power. people made the same mistakes with the 5-liters. They make the same mistake with carbs. My 73' Mach 1 went low 14's with a 500cfm Edelbrock.
Spend the money on another mod with tried and true field tested gains

RE: BBK NEW Throttle Body...
Hate to disagree, but larger throttle bodies definitely improve throttle response and MPH at the track. I used to hear everybody say waste of money as they dont gain any HP. Its true on the dyno you will NOT see an increase but at the track where it matters, you will. On Lightnings we typically see a 2mph increase at the track. 03-04 Cobras same thing, I have both single blades on my Lightning and Cobra with no problems. Sure the newer Mustangs are different with the fly-by wire, its going to be harder to tune. But BBK spent alot of time researching this, and although personally I have not teseted this new one I am confident its a good product. I have never had problems with BBK products. As far as the other throttle bodies in the market for the 05, well who knows what R&D they have done. But they certainly dont have the repuation BBK has. Accufab still has not released their version, when they do I would look out for that one as well.

Well Derek i appreciate your wish to peddle your products, however let's just point something out here -
1. You said Lightnings and Cobra's - not S197 MUSTANGS
2. You said YOU HAVENT TESTED ONE YET
You are speaking for this product with no concrete knowledge about it. I have PERSONALLY seen the dyno sheets and PERSONALLY seen the car I spoke about.
Also please explain how a product that does not increase horsepower lowers et's at the track - with the exception of suspension mods of course.
