As for an STI, a CAI and tune has been all I need to beat the ones I've been up against. Installing a turbo of any kind would make it such a no contest to be laughable.

700hp to beat a C6 Z06, there are '05/'06 Mustang's making about 500hp deep in the 11's that are more than capable of nailng down a C6 Z06, not sure where the 700hp number comes from.

Cool, Gatta respect those new vette's. I never really liked em till the new ones came out. Sharp cars, maybe I should't compare the two since they arent even in the same class.

I live in Phoenix and me and my dad drove his GT up to Flag, on the way home from Flag we both see a sleek car come up hard and fast on us. Brand new Z06, I would say driver was 45ish with his 70ish dad in the car. Me and my dad in the GT respectively 49 and 23. They never tried to pass us, we definately pushed the GT harder then they would the Z06. They would try and keep up, and I know the Z06 can hold its own. Thats the problem with Vette drivers, they got hell of a car, and don't use it. I recorded a 1 min clip of us going on some Arizona open road, never went past 160, as the road has lots of cattleguards, going over a cattleguard at 180 is quite scary, we won't do that again. We tried to get the Zo6 to play with us on that road as its a 20 mile stretch and you will see 1-3 cars tops. The Z06 sits a lot higher then the GT, need to ride in one, I hate Chevy, but like the new Vettes. I just don't ever being able to imagine my Mustang to be as fast as the ZO6, as it's close to the GT. And I imagine if it was as fast, it would be scary, cause I can't imagine it handling near as well as the Vette or GT.

z06 is about 11.7 in 1/4 and sti is 13.0. assuming stock cars and good drivers.
with 450 rwhp, drag radials and a great driver you may be able to hang with a z06. you'd spank the sti.
here's a free drag sim where you can race the 05+ mustang (with or without mods) against both the z06 and sti as well as many others. you must have excel 2003 to run it.

The 180mph sound almost impossible for a Stang.
