Default XCal 2, two step rev limiter

From the SCT website. Anyone try this.

******************************************

Q: I have noticed posts about 2 step and seen it in the Xtreme Tune software.

I have a few questions

1. What is 2 step?
2. What is 2 step used for or why do you use it?
3. What does it do?

A: A two step is a type of rev limiter that is used in drag racing. It allows a lower rev limiter for launching and a higher limiter when moving. This allows either more consistant launches, or the ability to change it based on changing track conditions. A slipperyier track would want a lower launch RPM.

You have to bypass the clutch switch, but yes, it works. Nothing new. 2 step has been around a while.

When programming through the SCT what method is used to limit RPM though? If it's cutting fuel it doesn't sound like a good idea. Don't most of the 2-steps for racing cut random sparks to limit RPM? .
