I just installed the C&L CAI and 93 Octane tune from Brenspeed. WOW!!! What a freakin' difference. I have an auto now, so the stock performance was a little weak. But, now with the firmed up shiftpoints and extra power from the tune and high octane, this thing is a beast. I was able to bark the tires in 2nd and 3rd on the first test drive. I am totally thrilled with the tunes from Brent. This is my second S197 and the second car I've had tuned by Brent. I have been thrilled with both. Luckily, I'm close to the shop so I'm planning on going over there for the next Dyno Day on Oct. 14th. I'll post my dyno numbers when I get them.

Did you get the regular C@L intake or the "Racer" style? Just curious, thanks

Thanks for the info. CAI/tune is the next mod on my list and I am trying to decide between C&L or JLT. Not an easy choice!

I am gonna buy the racer style intake. Supposely it is bigger than the regular one and much cheaper.

I got the Racer version.. PM if you have any questions regarding setup.. the inlet does set pretty close or if not on top of the radiator intake which heats up the tube a lot. I'm working on a fix for that and also a good place to set it up very sturdy, the conical filter and make sure everthing does not move.... believe me, it will!

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, just stating a known fact....dyno tests show that the C&L racing intake generates a few less hp than their street intake on a lightly modified S197:

Yeah, I believe that they (C&L) are pretty upfront about the racer versus the street. The "racer" really is only for heavily modded applications. The street performs better on a basic bolt-on S197. So, unless you have a good reason to go with the racer, I would stick with the basic streeter version.
