DONOTUSE 5W-30....voids warranty ...You can't find a better oil for the price than Motorcraft...5W-20 syn-blend. About $10.00 at Wally world for a 5 qt jug...

dont use syn blend it is not worth it. Instead the best 5w-30 would be an amsoil or a redline. if you are gonna stick with 5w-20 stick with redline only.

Motorcraft 5w-20 is fine with me. I was wrong to even think I needed 5w-30, for some reason I thought thats what it said on the filler cap. I even made a fool of my self in an email to a resonder who was just asking if it was ok to use 5w-30 because I didnt read what the man really said. I must be gettin senile! Thanks very much for this info, I will just stick to what Ford uses in our engines. And of course NOT 5w-30!! Gary

First of all 5w30 will NOT void your warranty. As for the best well that is kind of like saying who is the hottest woman we all like and think differant. Just as we all think one oil is better than the other. For the money you simply cannot beat Mobil 1 and it can be found at almost every auto parts store in the country unlike Redline, Royal Purple or Amsoil.

I like Royal purple, you have to change the filter every 3,000 but you only have to change the oil every 12,000 mi. works out to be around the same price as Dino oil.

Amsoil makes a 5W20 that's API approved for use in Fords specifying that grade. It uses a Group 3 base stock provided from an advanced Petro-Canada process that produces a real high quality base stock. It could be aurgued that it's not a "real" synthetic using a Group 3 base stock, but the Ford branded blends and labelled "Fully Synthetics" use a Group 3 base stock as well.

Note that for the perscribed 5000 mile change interval, ANY 5W20 motor oil will work very well.

I changed out all the major fluids to RoyalPurple. Trans, Diff and engine.
felt quite a difference when I did. Car was a lot smoother, shifted smoother and just plain ran better.

although I still change the Royal Purple + Filter every 5000KM
