First thing would be to tune the car. SCT or Diablo. I prefer SCT.
Most retailers are offering kits. A tuner and a CAI set. C&L, JLT see to be the most popular although there are many more out there. I use the JLT since he is local and I like the price.
Next I would look at pullies and FRPP delete plates. Steeda has the plates for about $300.00 and the FRPP are under $100.00 for the same thing.
All of these are minor installs. You could do each of them in under an hour. THe CAI and plates can take about 30 minutes each.
As for gains? CAI and tune will net between 20rwhp and 35rwhp depending on the tune. Pullies and plates can net anouth 10rwhp each. All gains will vary from car to car. So this setup will net you anywhere from 30 to 50rwhp.
Next mod would be an aluminum drive shaft to free up some more HP and TQ. Gains posted have shown from 5 to 15rwhp due to the reduced rotational mass. It also resolves most of the clunking we get on the manuals.

Oh yeah... costs?
SCT tuner... from $375.00 to $400.00 (Biggest gain in power and driveability)
CAI's run from $200.00 to $400.00

Yeah... forgot about nitrous. $600.00 and you should be able to run up to a 75 shot... maybe even a 100 shot without any tuning or colder plugs. But, I would probably stay at a 75 shot and keep it safe unless you wanna invest in some dyno time and tuning.
