Steeda Tri-Ax Really tight

RE: Steeda Tri-Ax Really tight
Give it a few days. I have the Tri-Ax on mine and for the first few days it was really tight, then it freed up. Also, did you install the extra wahsers or not? If you didn't you might want to try those if it doesn't free up in a few days. Again I do not know how long you have had it but before a full week went by mine freed up and it feels awesome now.

I didn't put the washers on mine. I installed it on Sunday. Does your shifter/cup holder area get hot? I think mine is getting hot because of not putting the rubber boot back on correctly. (Didn't feel like taking the shifter out to put it on, I was late for work)

Most problems with Steeda`s and Pro 5.0`s is the installer OVERTIGHTENS the linkage bolts.
Get back under there with some Locktite and just make them snug.
Try it and let us know!

I installed my Pro 5.0 over the weekend. I tightened the nut over the brass bushings about 1/8 turn and loctited it. Today it's as soft as stock but much noisier and a little notchy. You definitely want to install the rubber boot. If you have to adjust the shifter get a buddy to spread the boot opening around the shaft with two screw drivers. You'll be able to reach the bolts/nuts for adjustment. You may want a little more clearance to allow for movement while driving/accelerating.

Was it just me, or did some of the steps installing the Steeda seem to not make sense? One thing I thought was retarded was how they told you to install that U-joint when the shifter was mounted. That was like trying to fit a square into a circle. I just took mine off put the U-join on (with the help of a hammer) and then it was cake. I think im going to re-write some instructions and take better pictures than Steeda provided us with. Hopefully it will make it easier for people who do not want to take off their drive shaft to install. Just a thought, you definitely do not need to take off the drive shaft to install the Tri-Ax.
