Painted Stripes vs. Decal Stripes
After debating between decal stripes or painted stripes, I finally chose the painted stripes (Ford stock "silver" on "windveil" blue.) These were painted on by the Ford dealership in Parsons, Kansas. I'm glad I went with the painted stripes because the gloss on the stripes is the same as car finish.

Great design and color combo! Perfect!!!! Say, for $600 I'm thinking they are not buried in clear but raised. Can you tell us regarding that? Awesome look! I love it! Would get the mirrors done next if it were me.

Thats exactly what the dealer here did. The stripes were raised ontop of the paint. They said they would have car 3 days. The stripes were not cleared because they were raised. I did not learn until later about the differences with clear etc. It was the same single stripe down the center. They had that stripe on all the custom V6's. No stripes on GT's. For that price i dont see how you can go wrong.

Right, still a great price and can "clear" later if you like, if they used base and clear on the stripes. (With a single stage urethane I don't know about clearing later on that. ...would have to check) Should find out excatly materials and brand(s) used; will need info anyway if/when a touchup is required.

Looks very nice - painted stripes are a better choice. Good color combination!
I think it has a more factory appearance if the stripes are properly wet-sanded & clearcoated but that would cost much more.

Ford dealer here in MA quoted me $800 for painted Shelby-type stripes on my 06 vert. He said every-single-one of the cars they've done with the stick-on stripes come back for removal because of bubbles from particles under the stickers no matter how good they try to clean the car beforehand. Not sure if he was pulling my leg, but I decided I like my GT plain and went with neither.
