Weight of 05+ GT
 

Ok, short question, I talked to a guy yesterday with a SS Camaro, and swore up and down that the new Mustangs weight close to 4000lbs. I think hes full of ****! Can someone tell me how much the GT weighs in stock trim? I can't seem to find it anywhere (search is telling me there is no matches). Also, while we're at it, any idea how much the LS1 Camaros weigh? I'm tryin to find out whats what here so please help.

Thanks guys, I dunno why i seemed at a loss as to tryin to find the info. He told me last night that MY CAR weighed freaken 4000lbs.....I was like ok, so if my car weighs 4000 lbs, and my friend here with the z28 is making like 30+ hp more at the wheels he should rape me right? And he wouldn't ever come up with an answer to it. (my friend and I are 1 & 1)

around 3,500 sounds right without driver, 3800 with fat driver.lol

A week or two ago, I saw a post either here or on another Mustang Forum where a person had actually weighed their car. I know that the result was 3,400 and something and I'm pretty sure that it was 3,435 pounds. I think that your buddy got the 4,000 figure from the GT500. It is over 3,900 pounds. It is a PIG! They should have supercharged the aluminum 4.6 instead of using the cast iron 5.4. This is what Roush does and makes a MUCH better handling car in the process.

cant you just go by the sticker on the driver side door? which says like 4400lbs?

That is curb weight including a full tank of gas and 4 passengers

They are around 3450 lbs for gt premiums with shaker 500 without driver and about 1/2 tank of gas from what I have seen. You can lighten it further by 60 lbs or so I bet by pulling the spare and jack. The shaker 1000 option adds like 100-125lbs.


The gt500 is close to 4000 with the spare and jack stuff already removed with the shaker 500. Add the shaker 1000 and you are at like 4100 or so. Yikes.
