I didn't notice any loss on the top end and I have the 4.30
Actually it feels like it can handle wind resistance better with the added torque. My tuner increased the Rev limiter when he put the Vortech and TC in.

I'm not sure if it makes makes sense but I can get to 165 in a flash. Not that I would do that...

- Painted stripes with painted mirrors and louvers
- Painted Gauge pod/ Boost Gauge/Air fuel/Oil pressure
- Torque H/P Conv.
- M-4209 Gear 4.30
- Hood Pins
- Magnapack Exhaust
- Steeda Springs
- Carbon Fiber Dash kit
- 4FU218-020SQ Vortech 08 PSI
-Predator
-Final lap tune

mustang dyno 305.5 at 5380 RPM/87.0 MPH

adding the 4.10 gear will snap your neck on take off-but don't plan on doing any high speed racing on the interstate b/c your gonna lose a good bit on top end.

You don't need to worry about top end if you aren't changing the stock rev limit. With 4.10s it doesn't take away from your top speed. You will smack the speed limiter b4 your gear runs out.

Besides....how often are you going to cruise at 140+mph????

What speed do you notice your gears start slowing down opposed to stock. Right now, if im going 75 in 5th,then down shift to third, it pulls okay. With 4'10's, does it pull hard as hard at this speed than stock gearing with the same shifting i described

Yes it will feel like it pulls harder for again, the simple fact that lets say with stock gears going 75mph in 5th your rpms are at about 2400RPM, and you shift to 3rd, and you are not at say 4k rpm. With the 4.10's in, in 5th gear doing 75mph, you are going to be a tad higher then 2400RPM....closer to 3k. So when you shift to 3rd, your RPMS will be higher and thus you will be in your power band.

For reference, the stock 3.55 gears at 80-85mph I think in 5th gear is around 2600RPM....with 4.10s I am at about 3K-3100 RPMs.

4.10s are amazing. Only reason not to go with them is forced induction. And still some people have the 4.10s with a sc or turbo car. I have them and love them. 4.10s intk tune exhaust and you got yourself pretty quick car and will surprise a lot of people including the pesky srt owners.

Unlike previous models where the 4.10s were quite a large jump and a decent hit on gas....

The 4.10s are actually not that bad at all. Before any of my major mods, when I just had intake and the gears and exhaust...I was seeing about 21-22mpg going down the NJ TPK at about 80-85mph. You ask me thats pretty damn good for a v8 performance car, with 4.10 gears lol.

As far as where to buy, just shop around for good pricing. I know some people are dead set against getting aftermarker Ford products, but after researching and some phone calls, I went with FRPP (Ford Racing Performance Parts) 4.10s because I had heard that they were the best fit and quailty, and less of a chance to have gear noise. However, I know Motoblue also makes a set.
I got my from Downs Ford Motorsports in Toms River, NJ.

Okay. Some one please help me. I have a 06 stick. What do 4.10's really do for the car? hows the shifting? what is the track times with them, do they help on street driving. How do they pull in the different gears. Should i buy them. i want my car to pull like a bitch. i know they dont add hosepower but do they add torque? and if so how much? I have a tune already and can ajust if needed. okay im don with the questions. Give me your peronal experiences with them installed.....
I remember I was in your position before I made my mind up to get the 4.10's. Once I got them, I was amazed!! At the track, I noticed I had to shift into 4th, but the 3rd to 4th shift is a blurr to some. I don't advise anyone else to do this, but the first day I got my gears, I was on a wide open three lane highway and I got into a race with a BMW. I agree with flewbyu on the 4th gear. It pulled strong up to 130. It was a dramatic change! I say, the higher the gear, the more difference you will be able to notice in acceleration.
