The torque multiplication from the transmission damaging the belt tensioner?
There are many accounts of tensioner problems that are on manual trans cars too. From the many threads on this topic it looks like deceleration whips the tensioner against it's stops, damaging it. It does not affect all systems in the same way.

The reason is because the torque multiplication seen from the AOD and the tensioner/serpentine belt systems just can't handle it. I personally think this car will have the same problems when it goes to an auto trans.

Adam is a hell of a builder (one of the best in the country for the S197) and he thinks the KB will be more workable than the vortech. He knows a lot more than me so he is probably right but I am still curious to see.

the june '06 issue of motor trend featured the livernois mustang competing against a hennessey viper, an accufab ford gt, a lingenfelter C6 and an mti GTO. all these cars were making in excess of 650whp. most were in the upper 700's! the livernois mustang had a perfect power curve rising as steady as can be from 300hp @ 3000rpm all the way up to 740whp at close to 7000rpm. this car is sick!
