Default Wheel Question

Im ordering some Roush Wheels for my 06 GT.
They only come in 18x10.

Is 18x10 ok for the back and FRONT?
also my tires are 235/50ZR 18... BF Goodrich

They use T235 40 18 not sure what brand

Will my tires fit?

Hey luv,

Roush runs these on front and rear. I'm pretty sure they're +45mm offset, but when you get them check the back of the spokes to see if they offset figures are cast in them (like they are on the OEM 18"s).

Was that a typo, I've seen the Roush in person and they run 275/40/18 (not 235). Trust me, the look is fantastic.

The BFG specs say the 235/50/18 is meant for an 6.5"-8.5" wide rim, so a 10" wide rim is likely to seriously stretch them. This isn't good from much of any perspective, handling/safety/reliability.

Best,
-j

Yes the roush are 275 40 18.

So your saying may 235/50zr 18's wont fit...?
grrr.. what should I go with for best fit? Also good brands

Also your saying the 18x10's will be ok for the front wheels?
thanks.
PS. the offset is 41mm according to the webpage

235's on 10" rims will look like the tires on mini-trucks in the 80's - don't know your age, but if you werent there it looked REALLY silly

the sidewalls will bulge out - check out your local brutha's 64' - much like his 6" wide white-walls on 8" wide wheels

Yeah, 235s are definitely not going to work.

first: the 18x10 should be fine for the front. i doubt youll experience any rubbing.

second: with 10 inch wide rims you should probably look for around 265's in the front and 275's in the rear. this will give you great grip.

third: tires depends on what you want the car for. if your not making more then 340rwhp, your not planning on making any more then that and you dont plan on any drag racing or autocross then you should look for a tire with i high treadwear rating. kumho makes good grippy tires for EXTREMELY low prices. if you are planning on large ammounts of power and/or drag/track racing then you should probably go with some street radials or the likes. it all depends on what you want to spend and what you want it for.

Thanks. Well they will be mostly for the road. I do a little clear road racing with my buds every once in a while but not too often.
What other brands are good?

I'd agree with the kumho, because costs are low the quality is good (enough) and they generally have a nice tread/sidewall look. They're not going to be the quietest of the tires, but they should last awhile.

P.S. Don't look at it like you're losing another G for tires. You can switch back and forth not only for a new/different look, but to use both sets for longevity. I generally have a different set of rims and tires for winter/summer, but I can't afford it after buying this car.
