Default Follow up: Just wrecked my BABY

The insurance company wants to total the girl because it went half way underwater during the crash... looks like my new girl will be getting some sexy stuff done under the hood before i take her on the street...

It just one of those things that really makes you understand how lucky you are to be alive.

especially since tonight my friend drove drunk in his black 05 gt (udp, 4.10 gears, bassani x pipe, steeda axle back, steed cai, sct Xcal tuner) into a light post doing 40 while evading the police.

Some advice: Take every day how it is, be happy that you're alive, and pound some pavement another day with some true blue oval POWER!

they'll give me kelly blue book for it about im guessing 23k or so it was in mint so im hoping for that much... they will not give the car back for me but I'll easily pay the old one off before I get a new one. I really wish I could just buy the old girl back and just spend the extra 15k or whatever it is to bring it back to mint condition. That and I just want to hear her roar again...

I'm sure they'll sell you the car back for the right price.

In some cases, the insurance company will total the car financially, and you can pay a $400 fee to have the car inspected for road worthiness, if it checks out you can keep the old car and strip it for parts etc.

With my old car they gave me the cash for the car and then I offered em $500 to buy it back.....which they took. Tell them there's a few parts of the car that you'd like to have and offer 'em $500 - $1000. Either they laugh at you or they don't. If they don't, you could probably make a sweet car out of it or make some money on parts. Let us know what happens.

I'm with Allstate, and if I total my new '07 they will just buy me a new one. No pro-rated stuff.

I hate to hear that ffk_pennywise totalled an '07. I was almost sick when I hit a deer in my '07, and the damage was confined to primarily just the fender. However, cars can be replaced, people can't. I heard a good saying. I don't remember who said it, but it went: "Everyday that you are above ground is a good day."

Damn you mustve really damaged that car. Usually they only total it if its over half the value of the car depending on insurance agency. Glad to hear your okay and its always nice to have a reason to get a newer GT lol....if only i could afford one
