alright so my brother(24) has an 05 C6 corvette and im 16 with a 06 gt. Now im not planning to race him or anything, but he always say that his car runs a 4.1 0-60, which i think is a little fast. Ive only seen 4.3. But he always gives me **** for my car being slow. He says mine runs mid 5's. Also in a exotic auto magazine(forgot the name) it has the foose with 425 HP and says it runs 0-60 in 5.5 and the hertz runs 5.3. My car is stock engine wise and i was wondering wut do u guys think we run 0-60 cas in ford commercials it says 4.9. Thanks for your input

That 4.9 second run that Ford quotes is from an issue of Road & Track(which is strange becuse R&T usually have the slowest 0-60 time of all the car mags). Most mags I've seen since the S197's intro in late '04 has been from 4.9 to 5.3, there may have been some times in the 5.4-5.5 range(probably automatic cars), but usually it's 5 flat to 5.2 for stick cars.....4.1 for a standard C6? The Z06 runs from 3.5(optimal conditons) to 4.0 with usually 3.7 or so being the norm, so with a car that has 105 less hp and about a 100-150 lb heavier your brother is under the impression that his car is capable of giving a Z06 car a run for it's money to 60? Most mags have 4.3 to 4.6 with 4.5 the norm, that would make a GT closer to a standard 'Vette than a standard 'Vette to a Z06 from 0-60.......hey, I'm just writing what I've read

Your car not slow, it just ur bro car as 100 more hp and weights less. Its like if someone on came 2 ur house w/ a 600hp lambo that weights less. None less though a 300hp car pretty crazy for 16... I though my 222hp 3000GT was fast when i was 18( I live in jersey; so driving at 16 a joke)!!! Now Im 21 w/ my first 8cyc and first 300hp car, and im loving it. But soon i will need more, all my friends all ready have or had a 300ish hp car. Now their all looking into vettes and stuff; so i think maybe force induction the way 2 go.

You both have awesome cars. But the C6 corvette and the Mustang GT are nothing even on the same playing field. You two should just team up together to smoke imports and ricers. No point in American pride going against each other

I timed my mustangs 0-60 using a speed sensor and as soon as i hit 60 the electronic stop watch stoped at 4.58. I have a CAI and tune. I know i can do better though
