Default DO I REALLY NEED LONG TUBES?

OR SHOULD I GO WITH SHORTY HEADERS FOR MY 06 GT - AND IF I DID GET LONG TUBES WOULD I HAVE TO CHANGE MY STOCK MID PIPE?

if your getting headers, then the short answer is yes, you need long tubes. s/t are pointless.

you'll need a new midpipe.

I read an article that shorties only gave 5 more hp at the most. Not worth the trouble. Our stock manifolds and exhausts breathe pretty good. You will find good gains from the longtubes, but I've heard you need a tune with them, because it changes your A/F ratio.

correct. there is debate over whether or not the hp is because of the necessary tune changes or from the headers, but who cares what its from? u get more hp.

you'll burn ur exhaust valves without a proper retune.

To me. The benifit is not worth the PITA headers are. But that is me. The factory exhaust is very nice as is.

the long tubes + tune will net you 30-45hp. id say those are good numbers. it also gives it a deeper throatier sound.

F/A ratio stays the same. Thats from the ford racing tech guys.
I believe the tune is one way to get rid of the O2 sensor codes if you get rid
of the sensor.
