S60R vs Mustang GT
Raced a Volvo S60R last saturday. I raced him from a roll at 40mph me in second. I win but not by much, I think by 1/2 car distance. He said he was stock should I believe him or was he liying. What do you guys think.

not too sure about that, but i had a go with a c70? or something like that the other night, he tried to do a ricer flyby and i was waitin for him in 2nd, as soon as he was at my back bumper i floored it and started to go but he was already goin to fast. That "lil' gangsta" thought he was hot shiit. I didnt have a chance from a light to put him to shame.
Do some research on it, as i did, the c70 has like 242hp or something superchaged 5 cyl.

I have a V70R which is basically the S60R in a wagon. From a roll it will be close, the turbo is already spooled up and the car has much less drag. The engine is a 5cyl turbo that puts out 300hp and 300 ft/lbs torque and has a computer limited top speed of 165.
It is certainly a real sleeper, and has more performance suspension components and tires with more stick than our mustangs.
From a dig, it does not stand a chance.

Those things have some strength - I ran into one just last month and we didn't go but he was 'fronting' a bit and I had never heard of that model of Volvo so I looked it up when I got to work.
Your result doesn't sound improbable - they are supposed to be very torquey down low and from a 40mph roll he's got the turbo up - lag in those cars is supposed to be minimal.
With a six speed auto he doesn't have to shift and he's got an extra gear on ya too.

My g/f and I attend a monthly dinner club with a few other couples and one of the other guys just traded-in his Z4 for a S60R. He said the new car is wicked fast, plus has all the extra room. Not sure if his Z4 was 2.5L or 3.0L.
