Default I think I have a problem

I just installed the CnL CAI and when I close my hood the intake touches it. Is it right or wrong?

Its the "street" and yes its the shield? The thing is that it doesn't go down any further.

Isn't the entire point of the sheild to touch the bottom of the hood? It's not going to keep any hot air out unless it does.

It should touch so that the rubber is pressed down a little, if its pushing the plastic down (so that its bending) then its to high.
