Mine are clamped as tight as humanly possible, that was the only way to stop the slight leaks, then after they were hot they turned about another half to full turn, no perfect!! The clamps that come with the GTA mufflers are the same as the factory clamps!

when I had my sixer with a Flowmaster super 40the installer welded a piece of flat stock across the back to reduce drone, it made sense, it changes the resonance of the muffler, his main reason was to act as the counterweight from the factory setup, seems like the twin clamp thing worked. Did you try to find one of them newfangled wide band clamps to stop the leakage first?

I know how to tighten a bolt like a champ and I even rotated the clamp and retighten it day later and it still leaks air. I'm curious if there is any negative impact to a little leakage back there, after all it's only a couple feet from the tips. Is that a cause for concern? CO2 poison or damage to the underbody? I'm just wondering if its worth the additional hassle to try and find one of these U-Clamps and try and tighten that bolt down or just leave it be. They sound awesome and the drone doesnt bother me at all. (FRPP Stingers)

the leaks increase the drone, but no problems should come of it...you can hear the leaks too though.....

I completely replaced the OEM exhaust and the new SWtakeslike a dozen clamps, I used red hi temp silicon in every connection, I didnt have leaks the last time I checked but the thing drones a lot off idle up to about 2500rpm, sound is not bad but every time I drive by an indoors parking lot, every one knows because it triggers most of the nearby cars alarms. I had no idea clampscould increase drone.

having a big problem with drone and not sure if my midpipe is leakign anywhere. i have MAC catback however and it uses the ball socket pipe connections, so will this clamp work on reducing drone for me also?

Resonatorsare the only way to get rid of drone that I know of. The clamps helped the OP because he had leaks and the clamps fixed.

I find the MAC AB's to have considerably LESS drone in my vert than a friend's coupe and hardly any drone with the top down. The drone seems to be coming thru the trunk/back seat area so I am going totry the sound-deadening mats.
