Default 3.73 or 4.10 gears

how much did the gear affect the gas milage and rpm, and how much time will it shave off my 1/4 time?

My car is an auto. 3.73 is the way to go with an auto I changed to 4.10 and lost 3/10s. Now from what I understand 4.10 is the way to go with a std.

4.30s 5 speed
4.10s auto

unless you trap at over 115 mph then go with 3.73s

with either, you will loose no more then 3 mpg, average is 1.5-2 leadititus usually kicks in though once they are installed

How much does it effect your top end. will your car just not pull anymore after 115-ish?

This has been addressed qutie a few times. Your car will pull harder even in the top end than it will with stock gears. The whole reasoning is that you are overcoming drag with torque. If you don't believe that concept, tell us how many times you've redlined in fifth gear to hit your highest possible mph? There is absolutely no speed disadvantage to adding gears, unless you shift like my grandmother! Your only sacrifice is a tiny tiny bit more drivetrain wear and gas mileage. Well worth it from what I've heard from everyone.

Wow there is a guy who races at the drag strip here with 4.30 something with an automatic. Are you saying he is going slower now?

I just kept my stock gears and put 1 inch less diameter rears for a makeshift 3.7x gear change because I am going turbo and with turbo I want to keep the 3.55.

top end pulls harder, if you meant top speed, then it will be higher because it will make 5th gear less of a dog and allow you to pull through it
