It's a tough call.
The above post is right, the JLT is technically the best performing (on a stock or lightly modded engine). BUT the margin is very small.
The C&L is only 1-2 HP behind, but the reviews typically give it higher marks for quality, ease of installation, and appearance.
For example, check out this article here: http://mustang50magazine.com/techart...ke_comparisons
Bottom line though? You can't go wrong with either.

First of all. Brenspeed is top knotch.
As far as which intake. I went with the C&L and have been very happy. It fit rather well and works and sounds great.
I have heard of fitment and quality issues with the JLT. So I stayed away. Look are a matter of taste. I like the look of the C&L best.
The 1-2 hp difference is really meaningless.
If it matters, Brent at brenspeed runs the C&L on his own car.

RE: the best intake with tuner
Just installed my Steeda/xcal from brenspeed last night. Super sexy clean install, it looks really really sharp! I didn't really notice anything for the first couple of miles (but I was using up the rest of my 87 gas). It started picking up quite a bit and the throttle response improved a little bit. Then I filled up on 91 and loaded the new tune. WOW! What a difference. The car pulls much harder now and it seems like it's easier to hook up off the line. Downshifting is a breeze and the car just never wants to be going under 50mph.
The only negative thing I noticed is the severe lack of low end torque. Before it was buffered a bit by throttle lag, but now you can definitely tell exactly where the torque kicks in at each gear, and it dogs like hell up to that point. Would gears improve this situation significantly?
