Actually F-16 motors come out in about 45 mins to an hour. If it wasn't for pain in the *** engine bay inspections you could go in and out with one in two hours. At least with a decent crew(4 people)Fairly easy. F-15 and F-22 motors are even easier.

You have to remove the starter to drop the transmission? I'm planning on installing a new clutch when the time comes and I'll be dropping the transmission myself. i'll be buying some type of transmission jack for sure.

That’s what I was going to suggest. You can pick up a cheap transmission jack instead of trying to mess with 2 jacks under the tranny.

We don't change oil on jet motors, we just keep adding more, and yes I'm serious. I don't know a ton about cars but being a crew chief for the last 6 years has made me alright with a wrench. Its just that I like doing the job right so none of these lawn darts end up being a smoking pile in someones schoolyard. No room for shady guesswork when peoples lives are on the line.
If I do it myself it should be easy since I have an auto hobby shop available with full up facilities. Lifts trans jack and all. I've done everything else on my car there except my 4.10s.
