Check out the soundclips on the Brenspeed website. Dave and Brent recommend the MAC mufflers with the Kooks longtube header setup. They say that it is the best sound ever! I myself have MACs and everyone loves the sound. I am saving up for the Kooks Long Tube Headers.

Hello,
I have magna packs with no cats and an x-pipe and I love the sound. IMO it is louder but deep and has little drone at all except at 1800 RPMS off the line in regular use!

Well if you want DEEP you should go with the MAC mufflers. Brenspeed has a video of a stang with the Kooks headers and Mac muffs. Sounds amazing. http://www.brenspeed.com/info/media/150run.wmv

If you like the sound I'm selling a pair of MACs with a less than 100 miles on them. PM me if you interested.

Thanks for the input, Somebody told me the higher pitch came from the x-pipe. And that new mufflers would not help.
Does anybody want to coment on that.
Please help, Michael.

Well that's pretty much true. X pipes will give your car a high pitched exhaust note, especially with no cats. I think the deepest you could go would be to put a MAC prochamber in place of the X and put on the MAC mufflers. I hear the chamber cuts out some interior noise too.

Get the FRRP Stingers, they're the same as the borla's in my opinion and you'll save money. Take the money you save and buy some lca's and lca brackets. You'll need them now.

Whether it's the Borla Stinger 11750 or the FRPP M52305GT, it's the Stinger. The difference is the Borla is T-304 Stainless Steel and the FRPP is a lower grade steel which is why the difference in price. I do have the Kooks with cats and was initially running Flowmasters. After installing the Kooks the sound changed drasticaly...for the worse. The tone did increase a few octaves due to the X-pipe and the sound actually dopped a bit overall during normal driving. Although at WOT it was louder. Overall it did not sound good to me. I missed the low deep rumble of the Flows.

Did some homework and listened to some clips and decided on the Stingers. The octaves went back down and the overall sound went to a deep low rumble and got quite a bit louder. It's not an obnoxious loud, because I hate that, it's just a mean deep sound. You can tell there's an X-pipe, but just because it does sound different than an H. Once again, there is drone between 1800 and 2000rpm, but I'm not in that range very often and you can learn to drive around that. But d@mn, at WOT it sounds freaking incredible. I would not do anything different. The Kooks/Stingers combo is perfect for me.
