GT500 brake kit

RE: GT500 brake kit
It was a cheap kit a couple months ago. Now it is 1400-1500 through ford racing with braided lines or 1350 or so without through the parts dept . Look on their website, I think it is the shelby brake pak.
It may be a 100 or so cheaper as replacement parts through clevparts.com. But the calipers were backordered for 13months last time I checked.
Someone may still have a set laying around with the approx 850 dollar pricing they were going for. But I dont know who that would be.
I bought them a couple months ago but am waiting to install in the spring. FYI, for 18" oem bullitts you will need a full 1" spacer. For fanblades I think a 1/2 or 3/4 will do it.
And of course, shelby wheels will clear if you happen to like them.

RE: GT500 brake kit
I would go with a set from steeda or Baer for the same money and get it cross drilled amd slotted! Just my opinion but they do work well and get more for the buck! I do like the GT500 brakes but there are better oout there! They are an improvement to the stock GT though!

RE: GT500 brake kit
I said 1k delivered because I live in Puerto Rico and so does he haha. I got 3 sets of gt500 brakes. If you dont have the $ right now then the best upgrade you could do is to get some hawk pads and braided lines, would run you to about 300$. Stay away from the slotted/drilled rotors you see on ebay and such. They will not upgrade your brakes, on the other hand drilled rotors tend to crack. Slotted was useful when pads were made of asbestos but not these days. Only way to get better braking is:
1. Bigger calipers
2. Bigger Rotors
3. Better Pads
4. Braided lines(prevent expansion of brake lines under pressure)
