Anyone buy their GT below invoice?

RE: Anyone buy their GT below invoice?
What is the invoice amount for a GT? I'm seriously in the market for one in Virginia and the it seems like the dealers here will cut each others throat... with the Ford plant closing and all.

I paid 500 under invoice, but I have bought a ton of trucks from the same dealership, they had the car on the lot and they had a guy itching for my trade (05 Sti) so it worked out. I doubt its common to gte them under invoice though.

I remember going through forddirect.com and working my way through the site until I got to my local dealers. The dealer's invoice was there. It's based on zip code and the vehicle you want.

I paid sticker for my 2007. The dealers here in Colorado tend to be greedy at best. The worst deal I saw here was the sticker price plus four thousand! That dealer acted like the GT was some sort of Shelby. I couldn't find it any cheaper in Colorado and I wasn't willing to travel out of state to save a few hundred dollars. I could have saved almost a thousand if I was willing to drive to Texas. But after taking the time off and spending the money to travel that savings quickly dwindled away.

I used the same exact tactic as Tpony when I ordered my 07 (even brought along the quotes from 2 other dealers to show them), and got it for invoice and not a dime over- and then got the extra $500 Ford factory rebate on top of that!.
I also made it perfectly clear that I wanted to know the EXACT amount I'd have to write a check for in order "to drive her off the lot"- and would not accept ANY so-called "hidden fees" sprung on me at the very last minute.
They treated me right and I'm a happy camper!
p.s. I heard that the dealer "holdback" from Ford on the Stang GT is $844, so that's what their profit was after selling at invoice (good enough- right?!).
