They ( thecayman S that is)do have 295hp at the crank. and weigh in at 3000 lbs. While amazing in the twisties, they are mild off the line compared to us ( GT's). My dad has one, and its beautiful, handles amazingly, but I have beaten him off the line up to 100 by a good car to1/2 a car every time. Over 100 its over, the thing pulls like you wouldn't believe even in 6th. We went to the track, he is a decent driver, but barely broke into the 13's. I blame this on launching, as they are stated to run high 12's to low 13's. To drive it is fun, but a little too controlled for me, ie ECU governance. The regular Cayman, the new one, is slower and a little heavier, so no worries.

A friend of mine has a 4-cam Mach 1, programmed with a big TB, and K@N intake, he lost to a Cayman S,but he beat a new M3!

That is with my mods. I think stock for stock the Cayman would probably take us by a fair bit. Totally forgot we raced after my mods were installed. But yea\h, they are formidable opponents. Just remember though that the S only comes in stick, so if you are a good launcher you could have a chance if you are still stock. have fun.

I have raced a cayman S before when I just had a tune, I took him so easy .. so dont worry bout that .. you just have to shift good...

I Know of A guy that dropped 70k on a Cayman S when they first came out to Autocross in stock catagory against Z06 Vetts, Lotus Elise's, and Porsche GT3's....One moth later he was racing a WRX in a different class. They Just lack the Power to be a any type of competitive car.
