this 'rice' thing is getting way out of hand....Im thinking about getting some slp loudmouths. and thats basically a 'sound' mod. so does that make my car rice?

and the tach on the s197's is next to impossible to see, for me at least.

id like to get one, sure would help me a ton.

im talking about seeing a honda civic everywhere i go with huge *** tach gauges and boost and whatever, like 5 total on the dash, and the slp's, no that is not rice, that is just plain nasty, those things are bad. in a good way of course just to make communicating with other generations a bit easier haha

I would not go as far to say a large tach is rice, I have an auto so it would serve me no purpose. It seems to me whenever person A dose a mod to their car that person B dose not like; person B responds by calling it rice. Fact is larger tachs for some people are easier to read, and some people prefer to have the tach more in their field of view while driving. Of course I also revert to a huge belief of mine: "Its your car who cares what anyone else thinks as long as you like it".

If you like it, and want it then get it and have a blast.

Exactly mattblassi. I'm sure people have said your body kit, wheels, and paint job are rice, while others think it's pretty damn hot (me being one). It's all a matter of opinion. Do what you want to with your car. If you need/want a larger tachometer that's easier to see and read, then get one. End of story.

I like it but I don't think that you need it all the way up to 10k RPM. Personally I like the way my tach is but want to add a shift light.

personally, i like the way a monster tach (5") looks with a nice yellow shift light. yea, you don't need it up to 10K RPM. well, the stock one goes up to 8K, do u need that?

i need one of these big tach's; its hard for me to keep my eye on the needle and up at the road in 1st and second; my rev limiter is set at 6800 so i have to be really careful. a big tach would help me shift more precisely.


i never thought these were "ricey" in the least bit. if anything; they're racey. the only way they're ricey is if they're on an automatic. thats just friggin stupid.

this particular tach turns black with white #'s at night. its friggin awesome.

Its a nice Tach for sure but I dont want to take away from the look of my cars interior.I would like a shift light though!
