Yeah RLY. I don't think many people on here will argue that snow tires will improve your cars performance in the snow. Certainly not going to improve your quarter mile times at the track, but if your car is a daily driver and you live in an area that gets a decent amount of snow, you're a fool not to put them on.

Subject of the post was "What would YOU do?". I would (and did) put snow tires on for winter.

Lol, probably would be a good investment...but I live in Texas, and you only see snow every couple years.

Don't they come with 3.73 gears or is it 3.31? I would get 4.10's.

What is the difference in gears? Why do people say they like 4.10?

4.10's definitely give better acceleration, but if you're gonna go with a turbocharger they're not really recommended. Do a search on gears, specifically 3.73 vs. 4.10 and you'll see A LOT of heated discussions. Basically, the stock 3.31 gears will not give you the acceleration that taller gears such as 3.73 or 4.10's will, but the 4.10's aren't as good at the top end as lower gears are. Plus gas mileage goes down about 1-2 mpg's with the 4.10's (especially on highway driving).

But for the drag strip, 4.10's or even 4.30's would kill someone with stock gears.

Oh wow, I didn't know what those even did. Yeah, when I test drive a stock GT I can tell the acceleration really lags. If I plan to put in a Supercharger, would I go with a 3.73?

I will be starting in the spring to upgrade my 07GT and I'll be doing my upgrades in the following order...

Tune
Intake
Exhaust (just mufflers)
Headers

...I've been toying with the idea of getting the GT500 front and rear fascia but I know those will be expensive.

You should do the intake and tune at the same time, so your tune reflects the increase in air you'll be getting from the CAI.

Oh and Muchtolearn, the lag is not from the gears per se, but from the tune, a CAI and tune would get rid of the lag. These cars come DE-tuned from the factory to make them easier to drive, so they built in a little lag so that my mother (if she could drive a stick) could drive my car and be able to easily control it. The tune changes that and once you hit the gas you're gone.

Oh and I'm not too sure if guys with superchargers are running 4.10's. The difference is in short, most (not all) superchargers don't really kick in until about 3k rpms, whereas turbochargers give power all throughout the rpm range, so that might be why 4.10's aren't reccommended for turbocharged stangs, but I'm not too sure about supercharged. Somebody with more knowledge come in and clear it up[8D].

Ah I see. So, to increasefactoryresponse and horsepower you might first get different gears or a CAI with a tune? Could you then add a supercharger or a turbocharger for more power?
