Anyone wish different TRANS??
I got a torch red 06 GT stick, now that I've had it for 6 months I really wish I would have gotten an automatic. MY next car will definitely be AUTO.
Anyone feel the same way?? or have an auto and want to trade me??

RE: Anyone wish different TRANS??
I traded in my 05 Torch Red GT stick for a convertible automatic, and sometimes I can just kick myself. Don't get me wrong, I love the new car too. But, I lost a good 20 horsepower going stick to auto, and sometimes it's just fun to shift. The current auto tranny in the Mustang does not allow for proper manual shifting. It's too slow to respond, and the shifter itself has no positive stops at each gear, so it's really easy to go to far, or have it in between gears. If the switch the shifter to a gated shifter, and make the auto a little more responsive to manual shifts, it will be much better. Until then, don't get rid of your stick. You'll be kicking yourself if you do.

Oh, I agree. It really makes a night and day difference having the right tune. But even then, it's just not the same as having the stick. I've had both, and I really do miss the stick sometimes. But then again, when I had the stick, I often wished I had the auto. Especially when driving in Chicago traffic.
Making my first trip to Chicago with the auto tranny here in a few weeks. Maybe I'll be re-energized to the thought of having the auto versus stick then.
I think my biggest point is that if you've gotten used to driving the stick, I think you'll be disappointed going to an auto. However, if you started with an auto, it is more than ample fun to drive with the right tune, although you'll be lacking a little in the power department compared to your manual shifting counterparts. But, then again, that's probably why I'm looking into a supercharger.

Hell no, I love having a manual, even in city traffic. I just wish there was an extra gear for the hwy(T-56 .50 6th gear) Hell with that kind of OD gear you could probably run 4.10s and only turn around 1800 @70 in sixth.
