To put it simply, it is not worth upgrading the throttle body. You won't see any gains really, it has only given people problems when they try upgrading, and the stock one is actually really good. I know it's appealing but I can almost guarantee that it will give you problems and even if it doesn't, your really not going to gain anything out of doing it.

You beat me to it! The throttle body is nothing but trouble. Do a search on the forum and you'll hear plenty of horror stories about it. The only way they make your car faster is by lightening your wallet!

What mods do you have now? I'm sure we can suggest something that is much more effective than a TB.

You dont really need a bigger throttle body your not going to see good gains until you have forced induction then the throttle body will get you more gains because you have so much air coming in but it your just planning on adding a cai stay with the stock throttle body it wnt give you enough HP for the money

Actually you will only see good gains if you have a roots/TS/Hybrid S/Cer. With a turbo or Centf S/Cer they blow thru the TB under boost so its no real gain, whis the other you are sucking air in and it is a restriction.

Ive always read the samething, but did you guys happen to pick up one of the latest issues of Fast Fords Mag that included the DVD?
They modded an 06 GT five speed and one of the mods was a throttle body. They picked up quite a few ponies with one on a N/A car with just a CAI and tune. If I remember right, they picked up 12 hp.

I haven't read the mag, but I would rather trust the opinion of people who have actually done it. Seriously, do a forum search and hear from actual users of the TBs.

There are much better upgrades in the same price range.

Is it 1/4 mile long and downhill? If so I might be interested in at least renting it to boast some figures...
