UDP's

RE: UDP's
Kind of a silly question, but does every UDP set come complete with all the correct bolts and tools to pull the old pulley off?
I have seen the steeda set pictured and it has these two extra bolts and I have seen the GMS pictured and it only has the pullies. Some of our sponsors sites don't have a complete breakdown of the components listed under each item. Case in point the GMS pulley set is 179 but has no bolts shown and nothing listed, while the Steeda pullies have two bolts pictured and list the bolts as needed for install and they are 210.

The steeda pullies should come with a main crank bolt to use in the seating of the crank pulley. NOT FOR PERMENENT INSTALLATION. Then they should have 1 smaller bolt for the alt bracket. That one is for install you will have to remove 1 stud from the lower right hand side of the bracket so the new pulley doesnt hit the stud. Just a word of advise if you have an auto like I do take the fan out its much easier to do the install.

Also, the shorter bolts for the alternator bracket is not strictly required either. You can simply cut down the OEM stud while it's in place. IT takes about 30 seconds with a Dremel or an air cut-off tool. You could do it with a hacksaw too.

RE: UDP's
Good point cutting is an option and a harminic ballencer is rentable I didnt think about the rental thing but as far as the bolt is concerned it looks cleaner on the install. New uncut bolt looks better than cut stud that may have threading issues if not cut properly. JMO P.S. We didnt answer all the tools question. You will need a three prong pulley puller to remove the crank pulley. Also rentable but cheep to buy I got one for 30.00 bucks
