Default Changes in GT's

Hey im going to buy a used GT, but have only test driven 07's. Is there any difference in an 05-06-07? I mean any changes in clutch feel, shifter smoothness? I noticed that the 07 had a much smoother shifter and clutch then my 06 V6, but is that a difference from GT to V6 or 2006 to 2007?

Tothe best of my knowledge there is no difference. Never buy any car without a test drive. Get a carfax report on any used car. Call any Ford dealer's service department about differences in the '05-'07 cars. They should know if there are any differences.

There are a few differences, the most notable one being the '07 having an aux audio jack in the console (I believe, I have an 06 myself). I think there might be a gear option for autos in the 07s and optional heated seats, neither of which were offered previously. Other than the gearing option for autos, I don't believe the engine/drivetrain has changed at all.

Like callahan said, test drive and ask the dealership. If you are buying used there's a good chance the used one is going to shift/handle a bit differently than a new one anyway, just from being broken in/used/abused, etc

The gear option is for both the auto and stick I think. Its like $100 option.

There is also a slight difference in the rearmost bushing on the front lower control arms. 05 is different than 06-07.

The 07s have more luxury options like heated seats, passenger side power seats, auto dimming mirrors, and other comfortcrap that mean squat for performance. Performance wise the only changes is I can think of is the fact that 3.31 is the standard ratio across the board for GTs as opposed to 3.55s beingoptional now in the manuals, they were standard in 06. The other change is possibly some extra chassis bracing that trickled down from the GT500.

The suspension had a few points upgraded in 07 from the GT500 needing them. The 07 also has a diffrent thermostate setup. Which is why you see things like the roushcharger 07 required kit.

And I love the power passanger seat as well as heated seats.. Have not used the AUX input on mine, but its a nice addon. The 07 also offer the GT Appearance package (Hood scoop and plenum cover).

Exactly the waterneck is in a different location which is ****ing up my sc install since I am still waiting on the part for my 07. [:@]Damn ford had to go screw up a good thing just enough to **** me off!
