Default Whipple pulley hitting hood

I have an 07 GT with the HO Whipple superchanger kit. I just happen to look at the hood at the right angle and saw a slight rise in it. The pulley from my Whipple SC is hitting the hood. I believe this is something that has just started recently. The Whipple has been on the car for about 10,000 miles. So my debate now is do I get a new hood with more clearance or get new motor mounts that will drop the engine down an inch or so?

Get a new hood! Always modify when there is a good reason behind it!

Although 06Saleen3V is right ... motor mounts are like 1/5 of the cost of a hood + paint lol.

4" cowl is a little extreme for my taste. How about the Saleen S/C hood or the BBR hood? Both are badass with room for a blower...not to mentionmore subtle as well

yea, 4" cowl probly too much. i kinda like the cobra R hood myself. but theres not really a hood that jumps out at me and says WOW!! i dont think i've seen the saleen SC hood or the BBR hood either, I gotta check them out.

hey clfrye, you have a couple of options:

take off the hood liner completely (as some have done)

cut pieces out of the liner to prevent rubbing (this
is what i did)

Thats what i did. I cut a square in the liner where the pulley is.

you may find that the liner also rubs
on the top of the whipple, near the
oil screw location.....

basically, it's gonna rub the liner in
2-3 places and you just trim where ya
need to

Yes, I did remove the hood liner. There is a small dent in the metal of the hood.
