Default 62mm throttle body

Has anyone had good results in replacing the stock tb with aftermarket tb.I have read a lot of negitive results in regards to driveability issues and very small hp gains. My shop is suggesting this upgrade.I would like to hear from anyone who has had good luck with this.My shop is suggesting BBK.They are saying that improvements have been made to this new unit. Thanks for all who respond

What you have read is correct. There is not much good coming from replacing the TB unless you have FI.

If your shop is suggesting it and they have NOTHING WHAT SO EVER to do with the sale of it to you, then politely tell them that you have heard enough mixed /negative comments about changing throttle bodies on S197s that you think you will pass.

If your shop is suggesting it and the somewhere somehow will make as single penny off of selling it to you....find another shop because they just want your money.

Only people PERIOD that you will EVER hear say anything good about throttle bodies for S197s are people that somehow make money off of them.

WHEN they work, they only give a few horsepower gain. The bigger problem is that the gears inside like to bind up. I've seen an 05' puttind 625 on the ground with the stock tb. Save your money
