Problems filling GAS??

RE: Problems filling GAS??
i have not had a problem yet, but might someday.
this is from the 06 gt manual.....interesting....
• Use the same filling rate setting (low — medium — high) each time
the tank is filled.
• Allow no more than two automatic click-offs when filling.
• Always use fuel with the recommended octane rating.
• Use a known quality gasoline, preferably a national brand.
• Use the same side of the same pump and have the vehicle facing the
same direction each time you fill up.
• Have the vehicle loading and distribution the same every time.
Your results will be most accurate if your filling method is consistent.

RE: Problems filling GAS??
i have an 05 convertible gt and have had this problem since day one and i mean day one, on my test drive the salesperson tried putting in gas and had this problem, said this was a common problem with the new mustangs.last summer my wife and i took a touring vacation throughout the west and i encountered this problem occasionaly. I took it to my dealer, even giving him the TSB number that addresses this issue, along with replacing the fuel pump. The dealer replaced the fuel pump under warranty
(there is a TSB for this also, relates to stumbling on accelaration after after prolonged driving and then stopping, i knew there is no way they can replicate this so i was not concerned about them replacing fuel pump)
However, they would not replace the gas tank for the filling problem , they said it only applies to cars built before a certain date and mine was built after that date.
bottom line is I have no recourse.

RE: Problems filling GAS??
Well I think it's operator error since it's never happened to me. I sincerely think it's the gas stations.
ORIGINAL: Arrow
I'm convinced it's backflow related due to a poorly designed nozzel port. On each of the half-dozen times this has happened to me, stopping and gently re-engaging the pump fixes it.

'07 here and same problem from the get-go at EVERY gas station,EVERY brand(well over 20 different stations tried), turn the pump handle upside down to like 2 o'clock and pump it manually and you can squeeze it all the way with no problems.
Yet another design flaw from Ford, but not nearly as annoying as my driveshaft problem.

RE: Problems filling GAS??
I had a problem with mine only filling up about 1/2 to 2/3 full, and my gas mileage dropped off. Took it in to the dealer and come to find out that one of my fuel pumps failed, they changed it out and problem solved.
