Default Loss of part throttle torque with CMCV/CMCP Delete Plates

So I ordered the delete plates from piedmont - great price, good service.

After delivery I email Brenspeed about a tune and he responded that

- The loss of part throttle torque is noticeable
- He does not recommend the mod w/o gears
- They do not install on their customers cars for these reasons.

I do plan on getting gears in the futurebut wanted to hear from those that have installed the plates AND don't havegears? How do you like the mod? Is Brent accurate in your assessment? SiinceI drive a street car / daily driver and don't live on the top end, should i wait todo thedelete install untill after I get gears?

For those with gears and delete plates how big of gains do you notice and where? Do you see any downside to this mod?

I totally respect Brent - his tunes are awesome and so is his service and he has a dyno to boot so he looks at the numbers all day. Just looking to hear fromothers.

Thanks!

Yeah, he's been saying that to people and he's right in some cases...who am I to argue with him, and I mean that sincerely. But do a search and you will find that although some people have noticed a slight loss below 3k rpm, the majority haven't noticed a loss at all. I may have a loss below 3k, but to be honest, I personally can't tell or it doesn't bother me. Plus, I'm not below 3k very much or for very long anyway. You got them at a great price...get a tune and install them, you won't regret it. I got a tune from Brent and Doug at B a m achips...they both rock!!!

I have them without gears. When you look at a dyno graph there is a small valley on the torque curve caused from the plates. They really help out top end though and the loss down low I don't even notice. I was told Long tubes and/or gears would help off set this small valley and bring it back level. With the CMCV Plates, UDP, JLT, O/R H, Axlebacks, custom tune still have 330rwtq.

A dyno won't tell you anything. Most start recording at or above 3k RPMs and the delete plates have no loss effect above that range.

He only sells the steeda ones, they gave me 1-8hp/2-9tq from 2k to 6.5k rpm. For $80 I can't complain.

I didn't notice any loss but I have gears. I did notice a huge gain and the throttle response is greatly improved.

Get the Ford Racing delete's from PMP for $90 shipped if you don't need the N2O nozzle the Steeda plates offer.

NO FU#*IN ****! I am not going to argue that the plates are the end all be all of low end power, but if I built cars for a company that lost $12 Billion a year, I would refrain from including parts that served no useful purpose. Those plates are there for a reason and that reason would be to increase torque at lower engine speeds.

Sorry to sound like a jerk, I am just not impressed or surprised for that matter.[:@]
I hope you get your money's worth at the top end. I think it will be marginal at best.
