Default 160 degree thermostat

I was wondering if anybody had put a 160degree thermostat in their car yet, i have my 06 gt supercharged and it tends to run a little hot, i also have hooker long tubes and hooker x-pipe , flowmaster cat back. Im debating on the 160 or 180 and ujst wanted some input on what yo guys think, if 160 is told cold or if 180 would do, i know ill have to retune it but that wont be a problem. thanks

What is it that you're talking about? I've never heard about adjusting the thermo! I'm still new to this game though, so enlighten me.

yea you run a colder thermostat to lower your combustion temps so i can throw more air and fuel in and still advance the timing. i just wanted to know how the motor like to run , if they like 160 or 180 .

160 works great and have used it in all my stangs N/A or S/C. In your case go with the 160 deg thermostat

thats not true atall a lower thermostat willl definitly make a difference , the thermostat will open up sooner (is that a word) so the motor wont heat up resulting in lower combustion tempatures, i dont see how you can say a lower thermostat dosent work when its a tried and tru method. I wasnt asking if a lower thermostat worked i was asking if i shoulld go to a 180 or 160
