Ive got a Bel Vector 995. Thing is AMAZING. Warned me many times and paid for itself many times over. Bought it for 300 new and hardwired it in.
where do you have it mounted at in your car. ive still got my bel 995 setting in my window plugged into my outlet. i would like to keep it out of the window and mount it some place else(with out loosing range effectiveness) because as i have discovered if you get pulled over and if you have the radar detector setting in the window you are getting the ticket.

I also have the Cobra 9930 and it has worked great for over a year. About the Rocky Mountain Radar, I would not reccomend it at all, it has been proven almost completely ineffective for actually scrambling radar and laser. Do a little research and you'll find it is pretty much a useless box. In regards to where to mount it, theories vary between low mounting and high mounting. Personally, I do it the way Valentine 1 reccomends and mount it high on the dash, especially in a low mustang it needs to be able to read signal through other cars winshields. In terms of concealment they make in-dash mounts that can be pretty pricey which have the actual detecter usually mounted in the front grill.

I've got the V1 hardwired on the passengers side right at the top of the winishield next to the rear view..very clean, and it doesnt get in the way. Excellent unit. I've owned Escorts in the past, but after my last encounter with their customer service I won't go back. Plus, Mike Valentine used to work forEscort, and after somerough timeshe went off on his own way and introduced the world to arrows, which in my opinion are simply amazing. It makes the "searching for the fuz" game that much easier.

The rocky mountain Phazers DO NOT WORK!!
Do not waste your money on these things.
If any one thinks they do and they own one I will be more than happy to test their unit against my radar guns and laser guns and I guarantee the will not scramble them.
If they truly worked why hasn't the owner of Rocky Mountain (Carlos) responded to Radar Roy's challenge to prove that they work? http://www.radarbusters.com/support/...detector/5.asp

Every time I show someone that theirs does not work I can just see them thinking about the money they threw away.
Anything Rocky Mountain makes is junk.
There are a lot of people out there that trust in something that has been proved over and over that they do not work.
But like the old saying goes.. there is a sucker born every minute.

You beat me to it. Rocky Mountain detectors are JUNK. I bought one to test out the scramble feature (it was $20 on ebay). IT DOES NOT WORK!!! It is a waste of money.

With that being said, I found this detector called the Whistler Fuzion. It's a concealed unit, and the main unit is a pod gauge!! I'm planning on getting a 3 pod a-pillar when I get my s/c, and this would be perfect right above Fuel Pressure and right below Boost. It's about $250, and Radar Roy says its a pretty decent detector.

I have the Passport 8500 and it's saved me several times. I went with the 8500 based on Radar Roy's reviews among others, plus the fact that I can add the integrated ZR3 Shifter jammer later if I want to.

Mine is hardwired so no messy wires hanging around and I can still use my Transpod in the dash. It's mounted high, near the rearview (but below the dark tint strip) so it can receive signals through the rear window as well as frontal shots.

Ive got mine sitting just to the left of the rearview mirror at the very top, middle of the windshield. I hardwired it in and ran the power wire right into that crack between the headliner and the windshield and then down the A pillar and over into the passenger side kick panel fuse box. Anytime I get pulled over I just put my sun visor down and it completely blocks view of the detector except from the front of the car. I am actually looking into getting a hidden unit that mounts in the grill or elsewhere just to clean up the inside of the cabin more. No luck yet.

Yeah, I had heard the same thing about those, in fact there was a writer from a car magazine at one of the parts shows and he was talking to the different radar detector manufacturers and he said that all of the other guys laugh at the Rocky Mountain guy since it's a joke. The only thing that keeps them in business is because people just want to believe it...I hear Elvis has one in his car and he swears by it!

Well take it from me....i have the pahzer rocky moutain radar...and this is my experience, when i got the box in the mail i was excited to get the phazer but after opening it and seeng the words "rocky moutain" i was like what the F***....i thought i bought a phazer not a rocky mountain! I see pics of the phazer detectors and it actually has the word phazer on it, then the next thing ive noticed is that is so got damn light..i dont kno about all radars but are they usually so damn light...the way i feel about light stuff is that it isnt of much quality, feels like a little empty box of made of plastic.....it also could look a bit cooler too....but as far as functionl, it seems to work well at least just like any other radar detector, it will alarm you of two diff radar types, the k type which is mostly school zone flashin lights with speed detector, and then it has the Ka alarm which usually goes off when there is a state trooper around or a cop using the gun....i think its pretty effecient, but i do not kno if it indeed jams or scrambles the radar, and i guess ill never kno bcuz ill never be in a cop car to see....i do notice tho that when i pass the school zone speed post that show you your speed that sometimes it doesnt show me my speed (maybe bcuz its getting blocked!!?) but sometimes it shows me my speed so its ovbiously not blocking it then....but you cant beat the fact that it will pay your bill if your 15 or less within the speed limit....the only thing that could be improved is a wider range maybe like a quater mile ahead of time or seomthign...but this is from me somebody who actually has it, f*** the reviews...im happy wit it...
