RE: PRICE TO HAVE LONG TUBE HEADERS INSTALLED
with booktime of over 5hours, and the average shop rate in my area being 90/hour u are looking at over 450 for labor alone.
that being said, i installed them for someone here locally on his 05 gt auto for 250, but i would charge more for anyone else

I installed my headers myself. They're a bit of a pain in the you know what, but with the right tools you'll be fine. The only bolt I had a issue with was the passenger side 2nd exhaust port. No those friggin sucked!!!! All in all took me about 5 hours and that was on jackstands layin on my back.

yeah, you typically get charged for the time amount that is listed in the book.... even if they can do it in half the time. everyone is out to make a buck or two. just shop around a little. i would say 300-400 is a fair price for installing the L/Ts and X-pipe.

I was quoted $450 by a high end shop...they build racecars (mustangs) so I will be more than happy to pay them that. Plus I will have them give me a dyno tune for my predator (which will cost extra) after they install the headers. I had put a set of headers on a car before on jack stands and I really don't want to deal with that again.
This shop has been mentioned in MM&FFs and 5.0 mags so I am really lucky that they are close to me.
