steering whine... is it bad?
I notice that when I turn and I dont give any gas to the throttle... I can actually hear the steering whine a little. I can hear a noise as if something is rubbing but my friend has the same year car as I do but in manual and his does it as well. Is this common in all Mustangs? or atleast the newer models?

I get it mine too. It's not too bad, and it's only when making a tight turn. As long as nothing is rubbing in the wheel well, I'm assuming it's not a problem. But would love to see what others have to say. Hey tonkpils, got a picture of your speaker set up? Was thinking about throwing some speakers in the back if I don't put the money towards something else.

I had a whining sound on mine as well. It did not make the sound while under accelleration in tight turns. When I took mine into the dealer, they said they had to replace some parts in the rear end. I beleive there is a TSB for this problem.

well maybe i just cant hear the whine through accelerating a turn because all i can hear is exhaust... im not sure, i am definetly going to have a talk with ford about this...!

Sounds to me like the rear end whine that most of these cars have. I thought mine was a steering whine as well and found out it was the clutch packs in the rear end making noise - replaced them and noise gone!
